M-7 Conference Challenges LTWM Staffers

news_kansas_city_1.jpg Connecting with pastors and lay leaders was one objective in our attending the Nazarene Mission Conference held in Kansas City on February 19-21.  Though this objective was accomplished, the King of the Kingdom had a much greater objective.  The Spirit moved through dynamic music and speakers, and our call as a ministry was reaffirmed.

Through the keynote address of Dr. Reggie McNeal, LTWM staff members began to realize that the FUTURE IS NOW PRESENT.  We must seek to move forward and not go back.  To be a missional ministry there will be shifts in emphasis:

  1. from internal to external - from church-centered to Kingdom-centered focus

  2. from program-driven to people development
As a General Superintendent made comments, the Holy Spirit in a still, small voice overwhelmed us with the fact that the people groups that have been adopted into our families are coming to our towns.  The people that we are to develop are in our homes.  They, when they are released, will then develop the people God brings into their lives.  We must learn to look for God in the world, because that's where He's doing His work.
